All of the songs on this record were composed and recorded in 2024. This was only possible due to the work of the previous 3 years, writing and recording “Forgotten Portraits” and playing a series of gigs that culminated in a 6 month residency at the Montrose Saloon, a small music bar on Chicago’s north side.
Because there are no lyrics, on titles, about the songs:
Andy’s Hat: Older origins, otherwise completely reinvented. The band locked in. Eddie shadows the guitar and Rob delivers an epic, soaring, screeching solo.
Person of Interest: About intrigue, not indictment. Fully realized with Madeleine and Eddie’s contributions.
Upper Constant: Seeking a higher truth. A guitar etude brought to life by the band, elevated by Andy’s inspired beat.
Buttons On Jacket: A tribute to badges and pins commemorating idols and achievements, recognized by those in your tribe. Andy and Madeleine set the pace, joined by Rob. Chris Stromquist guests on guiro.
