Edna Vázquez, featured regular guest singer with the popular “little orchestra” Pink Martini since 2017, releases a full-length album of music from her soul on Pink Martini’s label Heinz Records, featuring her family’s favorite of her original songs in the style of traditional Mexican folk genres (Mariachi, Norteño and Banda). Creating, producing, composing and recording an exceptional album springing from deep within her own personal heartland, Edna Vázquez is the rare female singer-songwriter working in the Mexican Traditional genre, a style of music traditionally dominated by men. Her passionate singing, guitar playing and whistling dominate these songs, recorded with two traditional bands in Mexico, Banda de Viento (Mariachi) and MALPICA (Norteño), and also featuring songwriting contributions from her brother and vocals from her sister, making this a true family album.
